Africa First
We build for African realities — mobile money, WhatsApp commerce, multi-currency, and unreliable connectivity.
About
ereQa was born out of a simple frustration: why is it so hard for African businesses and individuals to understand their own money? Bank statements are confusing, invoicing tools are expensive, and most accounting software wasn't built with African markets in mind.
We set out to build the finance platform we wished existed — one that understands Naira, Cedi, Shilling, and Rand. One that sends invoices via WhatsApp because that's how business is done here. One that uses AI to categorise your bank transactions so you don't have to do it manually.
What ereQa is
ereQa is invoicing and finance software for Nigerian small businesses, freelancers and the accountants who look after them. You create an invoice, send it by WhatsApp or email with a link showing your bank details. Your client pays you directly, tells you in one tap, and you mark it paid. You photograph receipts and the expense is categorised. You drop in a bank statement and the transactions are matched to the invoices and expenses they belong to. At the end of the month the numbers are already there.
Nigerian businesses chase payment on WhatsApp, get paid by transfer, bank with institutions whose statements arrive as PDFs, and from January 2026 operate under a rewritten tax code. Most finance software was built for a market where none of that is true. We started with the Naira, the Nigeria Tax Act 2025, 7.5% VAT on every line, the TIN on every invoice and the NRS e-invoicing format, and worked outwards.
A freelancer sending five invoices a month who needs them to look serious and get paid. A shop, restaurant or agency with a few staff and no bookkeeper. A growing company that has outgrown spreadsheets but not grown into an accounts department. And the accountants who serve all of them, who can be given read access to a client’s workspace instead of a shoebox of receipts in March.
We are a small team. We ship often, we answer support ourselves, and we would rather tell you a feature does not exist yet than imply that it does. The free plan is genuinely free and genuinely useful; we earn money when a business grows past it. Our pricing is in Naira and our tax content is checked against the Act and the NRS guidance current when it is published.
Why we exist
To make financial clarity accessible to every person and business in Africa — and eventually, the world. We believe that when people understand their money, they make better decisions, build stronger businesses, and create more opportunities for their communities.
What we stand for
We build for African realities — mobile money, WhatsApp commerce, multi-currency, and unreliable connectivity.
Finance shouldn't need a degree. Our products are intuitive enough for anyone to use from day one.
We use artificial intelligence to automate the boring parts of finance so you can focus on growing.
Your financial data is sacred. We protect it with bank-grade encryption and never share it with third parties.
